Character Creation
The character creation rules will show you have to create a character for Maelstrom. You will only need this information when you are making a character; you will not need to remember all of these details during an event.
We encourage new players, or experienced players creating a new character, to get in touch with us to discuss their character ideas. By discussing your idea with you, we can provide you with additional insight into the campaign that is relevant to the character you are creating. We are here to help you make an interesting character that fits in with the campaign and is enjoyable for you to play at events.
Event Rules
The event rules will tell you everything you need to know to play the game. New players will find an explanation of the the combat system used at Maelstrom events, including all the combat and magic calls. These rules will allow you to understand what might happen to your character at an event and how to react appropriately.
The style of the event rules is designed to help you learn new players learn the game, not as a precise rules document that covers the most obscure situations. Experienced players who need an answer to a very specific question should email the referees for the correct interpretation.
