			Founded in 387YE, the Order of the Birdsong is the remaining ember of a former house that fell, leaving no nobles behind to keep its status.

			What little remained of the yeofolk of the house decided to remain loyal to their fallen earl, and band together from the rubble, to try and restore and reclaim the glory of the fallen house, taking in new allies, friends, and those in need under their wing along the way.

			The Order of the Birdsong leads these yeofolk on their tests of mettle in a quest for nobility and protection! Having seen the fall of their nobles, they seek to do what they can to protect as many people as they can and prevent further death and despair.

			All swear the oath of the Birdsong: “''Friends of Dawn will hear us sing, and be safe ‘neath our wing''”.

	The Emerald Lance is a union of houses from across Dawn~~, drawn together~~ by their ~~dedication to aiding each other~~'s ~~Houses and their capability as a fighting force~~.		The Emerald Lance is a military and battlefield-focused union of houses from across Dawn. Its member houses publicly demonstrate their loyalty to the lance by seeking the right to display their house's favour on the lance banner.

Houses within the Emerald Lance may~~, ~~if they choose, request a test~~ to join the ~~Alliance~~.		While the Emerald Lance formally recognises entire houses as members, individuals are also welcome to join the lance as independent members or supporters.

In 387YE, following the betrayal of Dawn's champion from the tale of the [[Deadwood_and_Rot\|Deadwood Knight]], the Emerald Lance went through a period of reformation in which the core political group of the Emerald Alliance was disbanded, leaving just the Emerald Lance as a dedicated military force with no central political goals or affiliations.

			When the house was restored by the knightly order, the name Syrenus and its heraldry were reclaimed, along with its place in Estmure. Today, the house regularly sends questing parties into Brocéliande and the Barrens in search of glory and to rebuild its chronicles. 			House Vortekar is an ancient and secretive house, formed by Viola van Vortekar in Murderdale. Citadel Nocturnum was chosen as a home and place of studying the Night realm. When the Empire formed, the house joined with the rest of Dawn. When the Druj claimed Murderdale, the house survived by using Night magic until Dawn's return.

			After the reclamation of the Barrens in 385YE, the house has thrown itself into raising its influence through politics and wealth, driven to never again go into hiding. Vortekar pride themselves on their Ambition, often pushing moral, legal, and religious limits in pursuit of Glory.

			Life within the house is unpredictable, since the tests are often warped by nepotism or so harsh that many knights-errant fall, or vanish, depending upon the Earl’s mood. Most members are witches and weavers who are dedicated to perfecting their magical arts, backed up by an order of knights charged with guarding the Citadel. Advocates and retainers work in the shadows, gathering secrets in an attempt to curry favour among the nobility.

			The abode of the house, Citadel Nocturnum, lies in Murderdale. Constructed from black stone and pale marble, it falls into the shadow of Hope’s Rest mountains. Inside are great libraries, ritual halls, gardens, and training grounds.
