Statement of principle

The following statements of principle were presented to the assemblies of the Imperial Synod. Fourteen of these statements achieved a Greater Majority, meaning they will be distributed to appropriate assemblies.

• Judgement: The Brass Coast National Assembly supports Sagua i Ezmara in her efforts to retrieve the Ring of Atun which she hid for safekeeping in a past life. As a relic of the Brass Coast and Highguard history we consider it virtuous to assist Sagua in this endeavour. Learning from our history is an act of Wisdom and valuing our heritage is an act of Pride. Returning the ring to the Empire is an act of Loyalty.

• Judgement: Highguard is the birthplace of the Way of Virtue. Our gift to all the nations of the Empire. Now the great pilgrimage has begun, the Highguard National Assemby calls upon all who take the Pilgrim's Oath to follow the example of the Winds of Virtue and spread the Way to all corners of the Empire once more. So they may seek out and challenge false belief, correct those who have strayed from Doctrine, and ensure that the soul of the Empire remains strong.

• Judgement: The Freeborn Assembly notes that the effort to rescue slaves from the Grendel of the Broken Shore is Ambitious, Courageous, and Loyal. Such deeds uphold the right to a free life following the Way for all people. We hope that all citizens will be inspired by the virtuous example of the heroes of the Empire, notably Sagramore du Gauvin and General Skar of the Iron Tide.

• Judgement: The holder of the Cinderpath Exchange should on election pledge to run the ministry at its highest level, and sell eight wains to the builders of forts in Necropolis. Feroz, and Madruga at the price of 3 Thrones, 1 Crown which is a virtuous price for a virtuous endeavour.

• Judgement: We recognise Sumaah's challenge of the truth and to our pride, and in virtue we will rise to meet it. We are custodians of the Way. The Way was founded in Bastion, it was our Exemplar Mani who first refined liao, and our first Empress who joined us together in Virtue. Sumaah only follows in our footsteps. The citizens of the Empire should continue to uphold the teachings of the Way as preached by the Imperial Synod, so that we may be a beacon of virtue to all. We call for priest to go to Zemeh to share the true way.

• Judgement: I ask the Silent Bell to investigate the Heirs of Terunael. They are in Brocéliande and state they are living in "symbiosis" with the vallorn. They appear to be idolising Yaw'nagrah and are lead by a charismatic leaer. I ask you to find all you can on them, including who leads them, how they have come to be, their previous location and reach, and how we could stop them and their work.

• Judgement: Ambition's burning flame ascends to Frederick's legacy - he wants to build. For me he calls to set guiding light, a clarion call to all I say so shall I be. Granite white is precious rare. Too many ways to use it all. So says Wisdom's counting Throne. What will it cost? What will your greatest work, created by my will cost the Empire in exchange? This then we need - I need. I need to know what one creation is greater yet than all that part-completed stand? Can Frederick defeat time's hungry grasp? Give to me your knowledge and your art. Give to me your tomorrows all your skill; a world of learning, to rebuild our long-lost legacy. Those who learn not, those who forget, are doomed to live again our pain. So let us learn and let us grow. Build me wonder, build me song, build me college univeresal; let our spirits leave this world but not our skill. Bring students and bring scholars. Bring all our minds together, inspirational. So shall it be, to all I say - a clarion call for empire's good; for virtue guards our souls. Ambition's flame will always forge tomorrow greater than today.

I call for designs for ten library-colleges, one in every nation, to store duplicate books; and to teach students of the Way, or war, of history and the past, of architecture for the future - and for Freerick to teach as Adelmar the lion did; that knowledge be built higher and future generations have to tools to build even greater.

• Judgement: Penance. Mel of Bleak House Far accepts that they were foolish to pose questions of theology to layfolk, although there was no intent to teach these questions as doctrine. They seek to act on what they have learned, and accept their due chastisement. Firstly, they shall write letter explaining their errors, and exhorting others to follo the correct path to debate theology. Second, they will place a Brand of Irremais on themselves as a reminder of the lesson they have learned.
