Dreams

Some players have dreams overnight. That's nice for them.

Some characters have dreams overnight, and PD write those dreams for them. Players will come in asking for their dreams, in which case...

  1. If it's not the morning after, ask the player to come back the morning after – dreams happen overnight, in the literal sense that that's when Matt/Raff/Graeme write them.
  2. Get the character name and CID.
  3. Check the outbox; we might already have printed the dream in question. If so, skip to step 7.
  4. Get someone with access to the plot wiki to check if the visions are available; they live on a page similar to [1].
  5. Get a radio / get someone else with a radio to ask the MattCave if they have dreams ready for this character, or just go down and ask directly.
  6. Give the player their printed dreams. Normal rules for dreams and visions and so forth apply: they can spend as long as they like reading the thing, but they can't take notes or talk to anyone else until they give you the printout back. Use your judgement if that doesn't work for the player for, e.g., accessibility reasons.

Goosewhisper

Goosewhisper is a potion that causes characters to have visions. Players can make the visions up themselves, or they can find a ref or come to GOD to get PD-provided visions.

If a player comes to us for visions, you'll want the "Goosewhisper bag". This is a bag (normally an A4 plastic wallet) with folded up slips of paper. The ref desk will normally have at least one knocking around, and GOD might have its own which will probably be kept near the outbox.

Let the player pick one (1) slip out of the bag. Normal rules for visions and the like apply: they can spend as long as they like reading the slip, but they can't make notes or talk to anyone else until they put it back. If you get a group of players coming in at once – this is very common with Goosewhisper, as characters will use the drug as a group – you can give them each one slip out of the bag, so they can all read theirs at the same time and they don't have a chance of getting repeats. They still can't communicate with each other until they give you the slips back.

If you can't find a bag of Goosewhisper visions, you might be able to make your own. Your first job is to find out where the file is stored, and your second job is to update this page with that info. Once you've done that, print them, cut out the separate visions (note some are likely to be much longer than others, so you can't just cut the stack of pages as a stack, and will need to cut each page separately), and put them in a handy bag for the players to pick out of.
