The Blood Red River Museum of Tassato
The Blood Red River Museum was commissioned by Cesare Sanguineo Rezia di Tassato and approved by the Imperial Senate in Spring 381YE, in the wake of a powerful surge of interest in the arts.
Paid for by The Bloody Butchers Guild of Temeschwar, it stands grandly in Tassato Mestra on the western bank of the Vassa, completely overshadowing the Printers Guild Museum which squats nearby.  Locals proudly call it "The Bloody Great Museum" to distinguish it from "the pesky printers museum" which, although an impressive building in its own right, is but a quarter the size crammed into a cramped plot between brothels.
The magnificent shining White Granite and red brick exterior of the Blood Red River Museum perfectly complements the Blood Red Road which leads awed visitors right up to its elaborate portico.  Inside, the museum is fabulously adorned with white and gold gilded rococo together with sumptuous red and black velvet drapes in truly over-the-top Tassatan style - whether this is tasteful elegance or tasteless bling is a constant source of argument between those brought up in Tassato and everyone else.
The immense entrance hall boasts an impressive series of four historical friezes on the walls surrounding models of modern Great Works which are designed to inspire visitors with Pride.  The first frieze recalls the original unification of Tassato Regario with Tassato Mestra by Anabella di Regario; the second celebrates the foundation of The Empire with scenes from the 'First Feast' which The First Butcher hosted for The First Empress and the leaders of the League when the Empire was founded; the third marks the foundation of the Imperial Mint by Emperor Giovanni (although the artists have played loose with history by showing him conversing with the museum's benefactor, Lorenzo 'La Volpe', who was briefly Master of the Mint in modern times); the fourth commemorates the coronation of Imperatrix Lisabetta, with a particular emphasis on Senator Cesare's part in organising the subsequent celebrations.
The Great Work models are displayed on an immense map of the Empire showing the full extent of The Blood Red Roads.  The most impressive models are without doubt the Colossus of Sarvos, the Bloody Great Theatre in Temeschwar, The Blood Red Quays Art Gallery in Sarvos and the Blood Red River Museum.  Children love looking inside that model to see a model of itself containing a smaller one which in turn holds an even tinier one.  They also love an elaborate model of the Butchers Guildhall in Temeschwar which is full of beautiful intricately carved figures with lifelike features.
At the heart of the museum is a large courtyard which is regularly used as a performance space and for cultural celebrations coordinated by the Assembly of Pride. Elsewhere in the museum, historical artefacts are displayed with information about what they are and how they are relevant to Tassato, the League or the Empire today. These link Imperial history together through the story of Tassato as a finance hub based on trade by river and road, coming up to date with a display devoted to the modern League Trading Company, the prosperity of which enabled the Butchers to build the museum for Tassato.
OOC Note: The Blood Red River Museum is a great work that provides a pool of 30 votes in the Imperial Synod and 15 additional liao spread among the congregations of Tassato which are overseen by League priests belonging to the Assembly of Pride.
From: Lorenzo ‘La Volpe’ von Temeschwar, Overseer–General of The Butchers Benevolence: The Blood Red Roads, Master of The Butchers Bank, Treasurer of The League Trading Company, Grandmaster of The Guild of Good Games, Civilian Commissioner of The League, former Holder of the Regario Dossier, former Bourseholder of the Fortress of Salt, former Master of The Mint, Imperial Benefactor, Patron of Imperial Art and The Empire's first Beacon of Pride.

To: Senator Cesare Sanguineo Rezia di Tassato and Astrid Fjellrevening Rezia di Tassato, Gatekeeper of Pride:

Greetings!  May we travel with triumph upon The Blood Red Roads, may we feast on the choicest cuts, and may we  serve The Empire virtuously with Pride.
I was pleased to hear that the Senate passed our motion commissioning construction of The Blood Red River Museum of Tassato.  I and The Bloody Butchers Guild of Temeschwar are proud to build this Great Work to celebrate The League’s artistic culture while adding to the elegance of Tassato.  Our ambition is that this mighty museum will be as awe-inspiring as The Bloody Great Theatre of Temeschwar and the The Blood Red Quays Art Gallery of Sarvos.
These three Bloody Great Works of The Arts, together with The Colossus of Sarvos and  The Butchers Benevolence: The Blood Red Roads are all gifts from The Butchers Guild to The Empire.  I am immensely proud to record in our Book of Reckoning that in the last year The Butchers have donated  460 wains of imperial resources and 115 thrones to construct these Great Works. We  trust that these magnificent structures will inspire citizens throughout The Empire with our ambition, loyalty and prosperity and encourage them to follow the path of Pride.
Bidding you the best of butchery, I remain yours in Virtue,
 Lorenzo ‘La Volpe’ von Temeschwar
