All Profound Decisions events are administered from the Games Operation Desk (GOD), whose location is marked in each event guide. Members of the GOD crew are there to help you with any administrative or general queries that you have about the event -- we might not know the answers ourselves, but we can get hold of the people who do.

Vital statistics

Opening times

GOD is usually open for normal service during the times given here. Sometimes we need to close during these times -- we'll put a notice up by the entrance if so.

On... GOD is open...
Thursday* 20:00--22:00
Friday 13:00--16:00
16:00--01:00 Sat
Saturday 09:30--01:00 Sun
Sunday 09:30--17:00

* We try to start pack handout on Thursday evening, and aim to be open by 8 p.m. This is dependent on lots of moving (or, as is sometimes the case with the M6, non-moving) parts, so isn't guaranteed! We try to get a notice with our estimated opening time up sometime late on Thursday afternoon.

Tent layout

  • one-way system
  • player PCs
  • before time in: primarily set up for pack handout
  • after time in, we have two queues

Accessibility

Things you can do in GOD

Before time in, in terms of the game we can only hand out player packs and sort out issues with bookings/tickets. Most of our non-game functions -- especially in terms of coordinating with other crew teams -- are available, but e.g. there is only a limited lost property service until time in begins.

Non-computer queue:

  • packs except new characters
    • hand-in as well as collection
  • potions
  • money changing
  • resin resource denomination swaps

Computer queue:

  • questions, including ref questions/asking for a referee
  • registering bonds/rituals/religious things
  • new character set-up

Player PCs

Bonus services, mostly from the lost property desk:

  • Sunday coach sign-up sheet, usually from Saturday morning onwards.
  • condoms
  • liao physreps
  • ... and, of course, lost property, which gets its own section

Lost property

Lost property opening times

Whenever GOD is open, you can hand items in and let us know about things you've lost.

For collecting items, lost property opens in two phases: before time-in on Friday, and after time-in on Friday.

Before time-in on Friday: Lost property is by the exit from GOD. At this stage we don't have room for unclaimed lost property in the tent, so we can only return items if

  1. we’ve contacted you to let you know we’ve got something of yours. This will either be a stamp on your pack ("Lost property to collect" and/or "Arrows to collect" [TODO: GET A PHOTO OF STAMPS?]), and/or we'll have sent you a text message or e-mail. (Small non-stabby items might be placed in your pack, in which case there won't be a stamp.)
  2. you’ve lost something since getting onto site at this event, provided it’s been handed in already.

After time-in on Friday: Lost property is by the entrance to GOD. We aim to have all lost property, including all property that was handed in at the previous four events, accessible at or shortly after time-in on Friday.

How lost property works

During events:

  • collection during pack hand-out
  • when you've lost something: come and tell us about it; if we've already got it we hand it back, and if we don't we take your details. We keep these reports for a full year.
  • when items are handed in, we check whether they're IDable (i.e. we look for PID/name/contact details), or if we're very sure they match a missing item report. If we find a match, we'll get in touch (via a text message from a PD phone, or e-mail) as soon as we can -- but this sometimes takes a while, and we don't always realise when something that's been handed in matches a description, so please do feel free to swing by to check any time when full lost property service is open!
  • when we return an item, we'll encourage you to write your PID/name/etc on it

Between events:

  • GOD usually doesn't have access to lost property storage from the Monday after an event ends to the Wednesday before the next event begins.
  • If they were handed in after you left site, we can sometimes return OOC valuable items (wallets, phones, keys, etc) by post at your expense following an event. We'll confirm how much postage will cost with you before we post anything.
  • We're sometimes able to bring home a small number of small items (jewelry, tiny stuffed toys, ...) where we can't identify the owner. If we do, we'll put photos up in the main FB group.
  • If something belonging to you turns up between events, we'll do our best to let you know. You'll be able to pick it up when GOD opens; we'll stamp a reminder that there's something to collect on your character pack. If we don't get in touch it doesn't mean we definitely don't have your stuff -- it just means we haven't recognised it!

OOC valuables: if there is someone in blue in the tent, we'll do our best to help with OOC valuables like phones/wallets/keys/medications/mobility aids/ID.

How you can help us

  • If you want to check lost property, please come to the front desk and wait for someone in blue! We can make sure you're looking in the right place and our system stays intact.
  • Write something we can use to identify you on your items. Your PID, wallet name, character name and phone number

are all useful. You can use UV security marker – we check incoming lost property with a UV torch.

  • Add your mobile phone number, if you have one, to your PD account. Only a small number of senior crew will

be able to see your number. GOD will only use your number to text you if something that belongs to you is handed in.

  • When we fill out a lost property form, please give us as much detail as you can – sketches are really helpful, and so is info like “the gold’s wearing off on the back”!
  • If you have any photos of an item you’ve lost, even if they’re not very good, please e-mail them in to lostproperty@profounddecisions.co.uk.
  • Especially if you're an archer, please do your best to swing by GOD last thing before you leave site -- we have really limited storage space between events!
  • Let us know when things turn up! It makes us happy for you, and it means we can stop hunting :)

"Freecycle"

We keep items for a year after they’ve been handed in – that is, we’ll keep something that was handed in at E2 2023 until the end of E2 2024.

On Sunday afternoon of each event we hold “Freecycle”, where anything we’ve had in lost property unclaimed for a year is laid out somewhere near GOD. A sign is put up outside GOD on Saturday night giving details for that event’s Freecycle. People queue up, choose one item, and then – if they like! – head around to the back of the queue for another item. We have limited storage space – this lets unclaimed things be used and love.

Info for crew

The crew entrance is at the end of the tent by the GOD ISO. If you've been told to collect your pack from GOD, you want to pick up a crew t-shirt, or you have questions relating to running the event, please use this entrance any time the tent is staffed (note that we can't usually start handing out crew packs before we open for player pack handout on Thursday). For anything to do with playing your R&R character, please use the main entrance at the other end of the tent during our normal opening hours.
