“Llafndrián” the Blade of thorn:
An intricate knot of paths in the slopes of Old Ranging Hercynia, the Blade of Thorn is shaped by the winding of small rods and banks of heather. Built at the request of Rhisiart Dancewalker it is a site of memorial and pride to those who have given their lives in support of the Empire and whose names are carved into stone menhirs that periodically line the earthen slopes. Some say it is the passage of feet that encourages the stones to weep not blood but the potent form of mana crystals so that heroes of old can inspire to a new generation.
The stones are carved with unnumbered names, with the passerby encouraged to chisel the names of fallen heroes to the stones by the Blade’s rest wayhouse who maintains the work. Prominent in particular with blood red limestone are the menhirs of those who have fallen for Liathaven including the stridings of Exiles End, Tarw, and Y’basden. The particularly vigilant will perhaps notice the names of Yanto, and Warbeast carved alone on a smaller obsidian stone etched with the rune of Zorech, rumoured to have been taken from the Black Plateau.
At the centre of the swirling, curling knot stands a giant black stone with a single name in gold:
Achilles of Damakan’s Forge –who dared to dream no matter the cost. Let the mantra be rung forever: There is no empire without its people, no warriors without heart, and no future if victory at too high cost.

To commission a Great Work in Old Ranging in Hercynia for the production of mana. To be known as ‘Llafndrián’ the blade of thorn. The spiral of this work will include stones to those who had the courage to give their lives in the defence of others. Self-funded, priced at 40 wains of mithril and 10 thrones. Let this Great Work stand as a reminder that the Empire stands united, even in the darkest of days. A gesture of goodwill from Achilles of Damokan’s Forge to the Navarr.

Proposed by Hercynia, seconded by Miaren.
