I went for Torch as a "fuck you" to the Vyig (Night of 1000 Torches), and while it speaks to both the Ambition and Vigilance implications that he carries; flames being a symbol of Ambition and Candles being a symbol of Vigilance, a torch with a flame is more "Ambition-y" while a gate has more of a direct Vigilance symbology.
And yes, I take the point that a "watcher" of a thing is more "Vigilance-y", I think that speaks to the controversy that surrounds the complex man. Honestly, I feel like Ratibor's symbol should be a gate made of flames but now I'm slipping into IC speculation. I wonder if I can find a way to set up a miracle that causes Ratibor's tomb to catch fire but never burn down... How similar is White Granite to asbestos?

Ratibor's Gate Shrine
The entrance to the old prison now bears a red plaque that reads “commissioned, built, and paid for by the Crimson Reaper Cartel, the Sea Wolf Mercenary Company, and Estella “the Wanderer” Krazentia Callabrese von Temeschwar in 384YE, we invite all who have Ambition to seek inspiration from Boyar Ratibor’s example here”.
The plaque bears the symbols of the Cartas and individuals that contributed:
            the stylised Wolf Head of the Sea Wolves;
the Skulls of the Crimson Reapers; and
            the constellation of the Wanderer
The two towers that flank the prison’s barbican are embossed with great white granite torches that are brightly lit at night with red glow-stones.
A small mechanism causes the lights to flicker like heatless flames, causing the stones to seemingly flicker and cast stark shadows that dance across the prisons’ walls.
The old prison courtyard has been covered with a vaulted roof to create a sheltered Nave.
Upon the old courtyard walls there are murals of key moments in Temeschwar’s history and Ratibor’s life in which he experienced the perfidy of the Vyig.
Where you would expect an altar, there instead stands a great red brazier.
The tomb’s staff tend the flame, and parishioners are invited after services to stand before it and loudly declare their ambitions to those assembled.
Behind the altar there is a great mural of Ratibor himself,
He is surrounded by the frostbitten bodies of the Vyig that died during the night of 1,000 torches.
His eyes are aflame and he holds a burning brand defiantly aloft.
Many of the old prison cells, once civil servant’s offices, have been converted back to facsimiles of cells
They contain facts about life in the old prison and a few famous prisoners that were held there.
For a small fee, Parishioners may spend a little time in a cell to meditate on their ambitions and bask in the aura of the tomb.
The Warden’s Office has been converted into the office of the Watcher of Ratibor’s Torch.
There is a small library available for their perusal and racks to mature the liao that grows from the virtuous vines that climb up the building.
Responsibilities of the Watcher of Ratibor’s Torch
The Watcher of Ratibor’s Torch is expected to oversee the tending of the flame and give regular sermons to the congregation that the tomb draws.
In respect to the building’s history as a prison, they are expected to provide counsel to citizens that may find themselves afoul of Imperial Law and to the victims of crime, and to provide clemency defences for virtuous criminals.
They are also expected to act as a point of contact for citizens interested in the history of Ratibor, the founding of Temeschwar, and associated subjects.
