Mastery of these recipes allows an apothecary to brew preparations valuable to ritual magicians versed in the Lore of Autumn. With one of these potions a ritualist can wield the magic of the Autumn Realm more effectively, but they also become more susceptible to the influence of that Realm.

Unguent of the Bronze Chain

This metallic salve is carefully smeared into the hands and forearms, making sure that it is all absorbed into the skin. It leaves a faint oily residue on the surface that has the side-effect of keeping the hands deft and flexible. It is occasionally smeared on the forehead as well, but care must be taken to avoid getting any in one's eyes - doing so is very painful and may even lead to permanent eye damage. As the unguent is worked into the skin, it grants the user an increased awareness of Autumn power.

The side-effect of this unguent - that it keeps the skin smooth and the joints supple - has lead to it seeing occasional use as a very expensive cosmetic product. The side effects of extended use are occasionally blamed for the manipulative behaviour of certain rich and individuals especially in The League, Dawn and the Brass Coast. Regular users of the unguent of the bronze chain are often said to have old eyes in young flesh.

  • Effect: If you possess the Autumn lore skill you gain +1 rank to the next Autumn ritual you perform within half an hour.
  • Roleplaying Effect: You are driven to match wits with those around you, and gain influence over them.
  • Recipe: One dram each of Cerulean Mazzarine and Marrowort and one crystallized mana.

Suffusion of the Leaden Coin

This energetic elixir allows a ritual magician to exert great power in the Realm of Summer.
