The Hearthtender of the Unbroken is a Wintermark Imperial title commissioned by the Imperial Senate during the Autumn Equinox 384YE. The position of Hearthtender is a sinecure, requiring minimal responsibility but offering a regular income of mana crystals.

The Hearthtender has a responsibility to help those that have endured slavery and to rehabilitate them into the Way and the Empire. In addition if the Hall were to be threatened in any way, it would be the responsibility of the Hearthtender to deal with those threats.

Bounty of Mana

The Hearthtender of the Unbroken gains custodianship of a sinecure. They receive an income of 10 mana crystals each season.

The Hearthtender of the Unbroken is appointed by unanimous decision of the Wintermark senators. If a unanimous decision cannot be reached, the title may be appointed by the Imperial Senate instead.

The title can be held by a Wintermark citizen. The Hearthtender has tenure, and serves until they die or step down. They can be revoked by the General Assembly, the Wintermark National Assembly, and by the Assembly of the Nine.

Hall of the Unbroken

The Hall of the Unbroken is actually a series of buildings dotted around the hot pools that occur in the East Floes. A place of rest and healing, the waters are often used as part of the process of helping visitors. Carved into the door of each building are the words "Welcome to the Hall of the Unbroken, part of the Proffered Hand, the work of Lady Eleanor Novarion".

The largest of the buildings has a series of mithril pillars designed to direct the flows of magic into strategically placed rare salts. Above the lintel of the main door the words "For the Empire and in honour of Brienne Stormborn and Tyr Brenna" are etched and flanked by engravings of the rune of wealth.
