Dreamspeaker of Seren

This title is appointed by the Navarr Assembly

The Dreamspeaker of Seren is an Imperial title awarded to a citizen of Navarr. The Dreamspeaker oversees the Temple of the Waking Dream, the great work that transformed Seren into the City of Dreams, which was commissioned by the Senate at the Summer Solstice 386YE and was finally completed just before the Autumn Equinox 388YE.

Responsibilities

The Dreamspeaker of Seren is responsible for overseeing the Temple of the Waking Dream and looking to the prominence and prosperity of the city of Seren and its pilgrims. In addition, if the Temple were to be threatened in any way, it would be the responsibility of the Dreamspeaker to deal with those threats.

Powers

Liao, Tea and Masks

As a sinecure, the Dreamspeaker receives a regular income of 15 doses of liao each season. They also receive 5 doses of an unusual preparation called asphodel tea - this potent concoction made with vinum functions in a similar way to liao for the purposes of providing dreams.

Additionally, the Dreamspeaker is presented with a Dreamer's Mask each Winter Solstice. This magical item, not known to Imperial artisans, allows a priest to guide a target's spiritual dreams using the dedication of the target instead of their own.

Appointment

This title is appointed during the Autumn Equinox. The Dreamspekear of Seren is appointed by a judgement of Appointment in the Navarr national assembly.

The title may only be held by a Navarr citizen. They can be revoked by the General Assembly, the Navarr Assembly, and the Assembly of the Nine.

The title holder is encouraged to create their own stories about their activities within reasonable limits and to get involved in events appropriate to their title during the game, but they do not have any powers beyond those explicitly listed in the section on powers.
