Description

The Ring of the Rainbow Sage was designed at the Spiral Sword in Cargo, under the guidance of Tisserande Griffinsbain. The original schema was shared with Imperial artisans by the Imperial Senate during the Spring Equinox 387YE. The motion was raised by Thalia of Netherwatch, the senator for Redoubt, and funded by Tisserande themselves.

The ring is named in honour of Meraud, the Rainbow Mage, and the gift he gave to the Urizen youth, Leo the Rainbow Sage. It resembles Atun's Ring, but it has significantly more power. The ring is remarkably difficult to create, and it requires a small fortune in materials to forge one. It also provides the wearer with a sense of power and confidence, making it difficult to cause them to feel weak or inferior, and almost impossible to make them doubt their magical powers.

The rings themselves, in deference to their name, often bear bands of different colours or are set with gemstones of several different colours. The connection to Meraud might be played up, incorporating a hawk or a fox into the metalwork.
