History

Prior to the Summer Solstice 387YE, the Speaker of the Magpies was appointed by the Vigilance Assembly. When the Senate chose to recognise the Magpies as a formal Imperial Sodality, the appointment method changed to that traditional for all such fellowships - vote by the members of the sodality itself.
