Overview
These Imperial titles were established by a vote of the Imperial Senate during the Autumn Equinox 385YE. There are ten strategos in total - one for each of the Imperial nations.
Responsibilities
Each strategos is responsible for protecting the legal rights of the citizens within their nation who have been recognised by the Civil Service as being responsible for conjunctions through the Sentinel Gate; to work within their nations, and nominated citizens, and each other to maximise the odds of the Empire's success beyond the Sentinel Gate; to provide tactical, logistical, and personnel support to nominated citizens; to coordinate and provide material support in the form of herbs, mana crystals, potions, equipment, or other specialist items; and to serve as a point of contact for the fighters of their nation intending to take the battlefield. Whilst the strategos has a responsibility to coordinate and support those venturing through the Sentinel Gate there is no expectation that they themselves would need to.
Appointment
The ten strategos are appointed according to a schedule over the course of a year. They are selected by unanimous decision of each nation's generals. If a unanimous decision cannot be reached, the title may be appointed by the Imperial Military Council instead.
The title can be held by any citizen of the respective nation. The strategos serves until the next scheduled election. They can be revoked by the General Assembly, the appropriate National Assembly, and by the Assembly of the Nine.
