Overview
The Roost's Reeve is a Marcher Imperial title created by the Senate in Summer 386YE. The position of Reeve is a sinecure, requiring minimal responsibility but offering a regular income of crystal mana from Reed's Roost in Bildewold, North Fens.
The Roost's Reeve was amended, along with five other Marcher titles, during the Winter Solstice 387YE to make clear it should be held by a landskeeper. The motion also made it a responsibility of the title to look after the land and people of the Marches.
Responsibilities
The Reeve has a responsibility to look after the land and people of the Marches. If the roost were to be threatened in any way, it would be the responsibility of the Reeve to deal with those threats.
Powers
Bounty of Mana
The Roost's Reeve gains custodianship of a sinecure. They receive an income of nine mana crystals each season.
Landskeeper's Due
If they are a landskeeper, the Roost's Reeve receives eight crowns each season. This represents seasonal gifts of food, warm clothing, second-hand boots, wicker baskets, ironmongery, small chairs and side-tables, and similar marks of approval.
Appointment
The Roost's Reeve is selected by unanimous decision of the Marcher senators at the Autumn Equinox. If a unanimous decision cannot be reached, the title may be appointed by the Senate instead.
The title can be held by any Marcher citizen. The Reeve serves until the next scheduled election. They can be revoked by the General Assembly, the Marcher National Assembly, and by the Assembly of the Nine.
