388YE Summer Solstice Senate sessions

Overview

The Senate governs the Empire, and its authority extends to all areas of Imperial life not already covered by the other houses of government. Each summit the senators meet several times to deliberate and vote on the motions they have raised.

After the summit, the civil service enacts those motions and ensures a public record of each is made available to the citizens of the Empire. This page lists all the motions raised during the summit, along with the announcements made by citizens with Imperial titles. In each case, the motion and its effects are summarised, including the wording, who proposed and seconded it, whether it passed or not, whether any funds were disbursed to support it, and what the outcome of the motion will be.

Many motions (especially the commissions) also have a Further Details section that provides a link to a wiki page dealing specifically with that motion in more detail, any commentary from the Constitutional Court, progress on commissions, or expanded information about the outcome of the motion.

Administrative Motions

Amend Master of Works

• Motion: To amend the Master of Works to be able to commission one fortification and separately to upgrade one fortification each season
• Raised by: Speaker of the Senate at the Friday session
• Outcome: Failed
• Note: The amendment last season was unclear about whether Master of Works could make two separate commission announcements in a single season. If this motion is passed, they will be able to build a new fort and upgrade a fort, using two of the Senate's limited commissions. If it fails, the Master of Works will be able to either build a new fort or upgrade an existing one, but not both.

• Motion: To raise the fourth Navarr army mustering in Oakways, Miaren. This will be army built to fight the vallorn with the support of an eternal such as Llofir, Kaela, or other options being pursued.

Invest in Beoraidh Docks

• Motion: To invest in the docks of Beoraidh (commission an edifice) so that the fleet owners of the Empire can engage in Prosperous trade with the port and raise 10 thrones a season in tariffs and tax. Seeking a disbursement of funds for 75 thrones

This will create the Imperial title "Martim de Tassato's Clattering Curtain Theatre Champion". This position would have tenure. This will be appointed by unanimous vote of the League.

Upgrade Palace of Apulian

• Announcement: The Imperial Master of Works announces the commencement of the upgrade of the fortication called the Palace of Apulian in Spiral, which will become the Palace of Mists at a cost of 80 white granite and 240 crowns. As well as improving the fortification, it will additionally make an attack from the sea significantly more difficult and increase the taxation from the territory by five thrones a season

Construct Publishing Clearing House

• Announcement: As Chair of the Wolf I invite the inestimable Holberg College of Engineering to bring Katarzyna von Carstein's designs to life as the Great Publishers' Clearing House. Thanks to funding from the six great guilds of Tassato: the Camorra Barossa, the Gilded Horn, Jolly Jackdaws, Oathwright Press, the Silver Rivers Casino, and my own carta, the Printers' Guild. This great work in Tassato Mestra shall assure the illuminated city of Tassato as the printing capital of the world. Its custodian, Printmaster of the Publishers' Exchange, shall be appointed by League Bouurse Auction

• Motion: As Mistress of Monuments, I announce the building of an edifice in Apulian to honour the researchers killed by the Whisper Gallery in the search for the truth. This will be fully funded by Ignacia i Zuhri i Erigo. The Senator for Apulian has consented

Research Life of Sjördeyr

• Announcement: The Assembly of Loyalty have made their Highest Calling the transformation of Asavea. Our sibling in virtue is the Sumaah Republic are willling to discuss a figure of their past involved in their own liberation. A recruit, an inspiration, a builder. Virtuous action leads to further Virtue and we can learn from the example of Sjördeyr. I invite the High House of Prosperity to work alongside my librarians and share in Virtue.

• Outcome: Military units supporting the three armies will receive shares in the Imperial Guerdon

Assign Regalia to Keeper of the Study

• Motion To assign the artefact The Mask of the Mourn to the title of the Keeper of the Study. The mask's purpose is to support landskeepers in ritual casting on farms in the Marches - the same responsibility as the Keeper holds. The mask bears a true, spontaneous, Prosperity aura.
