Description

Dissipating Silks.png
Bolstered by this armour, a battlemage can push aside the pain of a serious injury until they have time to deal with it.

Dissipating Silks are most commonly crafted as a set of pauldrons, vambraces, and a circlet and often see extensive use runes. The schema was originally added to Runesmith's law by Arethas of the Spire of the Stallion's Volition, following the consecration of Elos Harbour in recognition of the Fist of the Mountains' sacrifice.

Arethas rallied dozens of Urizen magicians to work together to create a copy of the rare schema, making use of the great foundaries in Zenith. This powerful mage armour can be worn by magicians taking the battlefield to provide them with a measure of protection from deadly blows.

Different runesmiths naturally favour different runes, but the most common is the rune of Purity, similar to its use in Bloodfeather Harness. Likewise, the rune of Battle, for its more clearly physical nature. An artisan crafting a set for a dramaturgist might draw inspiration and use representations of the Blade or the Cloak.

Runesmith's Law

This magic item is part of Runesmith's Law rather than Imperial Lore. Any Wintermark character with the artisan skill can learn to make this item. Before they are able to do so they must swear a powerful geas, and if they later leave the nation they lose the ability to make this item.
