388YE Spring Equinox Senate sessions

Overview

The Imperial Senate governs the Empire, and its authority extends to all areas of Imperial life not already covered by the other houses of government. Each summit the senators meet several times to deliberate and vote on the motions they have raised.

After the summit, the civil service enacts those motions and ensures a public record of each is made available to the citizens of the Empire. This page lists all the motions raised during the summit, along with the announcements made by citizens with Imperial titles. In each case, the motion and its effects are summarised, including the wording, who proposed and seconded it, whether it passed or not, whether any funds were disbursed to support it, and what the outcome of the motion will be.

Many motions (especially the commissions) also have a Further Details section that provides a link to a wiki page dealing specifically with that motion in more detail, any commentary from the Constitutional Court, progress on commissions, or expanded information about the outcome of the motion.

Administrative Motions

Acknowledge Axou claim to Thornfen

• Motion: The Empire will not contest the claim of the Axou to the region of Thornfen, including the Tower of the Skink, in accordance with the existing treaty between the Empire and the Axou.
• Raised by: Speaker for the Senate during the Friday session
• Outcome: Passed
• Note: This follows from civil service advice in the ‘’’Other monstrous geographies’’’ wind of war and the current treaty with the Axou. This motion will be subject to the Urizen assembly to veto, as it concedes a region under their control.

Amend Master of the Mint

• Motion: Amend the Master of the Imperial Mint to give them the power to make an announcement in the Senate once a season to direct the civil service to review a previous appraisal or opportunity.
• Raised by: Speaker of the Senate at the Friday evening session
• Outcome: Passed
• Note: This follows on from a previous motion to hire the three additional prognosticators raised during Winter 387YE. If this motion is passed, then the Master of the Imperial Mint would gain the power to make an announcement in the Senate to review a previous appraisal or opportunity, as per the Forever is composed of nows wind of fortune. If this motion is passed, then the Master of the Imperial Mint will be able to make use of the power at one of the following sessions.

Create Herald of the Throne of Glory

• Motion: To create the title “Herald of the Throne of Glory”. They would be responsible for the organisation of the Dawnish National Assembly and the crowning of the Monarch of Dawn. To be appointed by the Dawnish Assembly and responsible for the Throne Room of the Castle of Thorns
• Proposed: Weirwater at the Friday evening session

• Outcome: Creates the title of Herald of the Throne of Glory

Appoint Ambassador to Otkodov

• Motion: Election of the Ambassador to Otkodov
• Raised by: Speaker of the Senate at the Friday evening session
• Outcome: Kindra Surefoot of Wintermark was appointed as the Ambassador to Otkodov
• Notes: This appointment was initially raised in the last session of the Winter Solstice 387YE

Appoint Ambassador to the Commonwealth

• Motion: To elect an Ambassador to the Commonwealth
• Proposed: Astolat at the Friday evening session
• Seconded: Miaren
• Outcome: Cyrus of Ebon's Hall of Highguard was appointed as the Ambassador to the Commonwealth

Amend Virtue's Respite

• Motion: Amend Virtue's Respite to become the Bloody Massive Pride of Temeschwar. This will cost 30 crowns and amend the associated title to be called "The Bloody Custodian of Pride". This will be appointed annually by the League National Assembly. It provides four liao and seven crowns each season

Construct Golden Bee Assayer's Office

• Motion: The people of Karov wish to self-fund and build the Golden Bee Assayer's Office. This will increase tax from Karov by 2 thrones per season. This also creates a national sinecure gaining 5 ingots of orichalcum, weltsilver, and green iron per season. This is time-sensitive to this season only!

Construct Lisabetta Docks

• Motion: To commission the Lisabetta docks in Utterlund in Holberg. This great work will bring new prosperity not just to Holberg but to the other territories surrounding the Semmerlak, that the whole Empire may benefit from the GREATEST CITY IN THE WORLD. Senate invites the Sandfisher orcs to build their trade enclave in the new port to trade weirwood. Senate thanks the Lijkkever family of the Sarcophan Delves for their expertise but regrets it does not grant them exclusivity at this time.
