The [[Imperial Senate]] governs the Empire, and its authority extends to all areas of Imperial life not already covered by the other houses of government. Each summit the [[senator|senators]] meet several times to deliberate and vote on the [[Senate motion|motions]] they have raised.
After the summit the civil service enact those motions, and ensure a public record of each is made available to the citizens of the Empire. This page lists all the motions raised during the summit, along with the [[Senate announcement|announcements]] made by citizens with [[Imperial title|Imperial titles]]. In each case, the motion and its effects are summarized including the wording; who proposed and seconded it; whether it passed or not; whether any funds were disbursed to support it; and what the outcome of the motion will be.
Many motions (especially the [[commission|commissions]]) also have a ''Further Details'' section that provides a link to a wiki page dealing specifically with that motion in more detail, any commentary from the [[Scrutiny|Constitutional Court]], progress on commissions, or expanded information about the outcome of the motion.

The upper levels can be reached by a graceful spiral staircase that winds its way along the inner walls, brining the weary traveller to the sleeping quarters. On the first landing visitors have to navigate their way past the watchful eye of Madame Delphine Emmanuelle Svorsa, the grand dame of the guild, within a floor to ceiling portrait. A cambion, she has an unmistakeable countenance. The sleeping quarters are comfortable and serviceable, a welcome retreat for Carta members to escape from the bustle of the city.
Further still can be found the quarters of the custodian of the tower, responsible for its maintenance and collecting the valuable mana that can be found within. At the top of the tower, gleaming foci of mithril stream light blazing into a chamber at the very heart of the uppermost room. A constant glow emits from the chamber, christening its local name as the lantern room and further enhancing its image of a lighthouse. The mana pools within the central chamber and crystalises in a pure white variant, almost as if it had captured the sun."

The Imperial Senate is to govern the Empire.

Overview

The Imperial Senate governs the Empire, and its authority extends to all areas of Imperial life not already covered by the other houses of government. Each summit the senators meet several times to deliberate and vote on the motions they have raised.

After the summit the civil service enact those motions, and ensure a public record of each is made available to the citizens of the Empire. This page lists all the motions raised during the summit, along with the announcements made by citizens with Imperial titles. In each case, the motion and its effects are summarized including the wording; who proposed and seconded it; whether it passed or not; whether any funds were disbursed to support it; and what the outcome of the motion will be.

Many motions (especially the commissions) also have a Further Details section that provides a link to a wiki page dealing specifically with that motion in more detail, any commentary from the Constitutional Court, progress on commissions, or expanded information about the outcome of the motion.

In the event that the motion had been raised and passed, the Senate would have needed to disburse funds in the usual fashion as for any other motion. Amend Imperial Magus

Appointments

The procedures followed for an appointment by the Senate mean that sometimes the motion to appoint a title will be raised at one summit, and voted on at the next. During the Spring Equinox, this was the case with both the Ambassador to Otkodov and Ambassador to the Commonwealth.
